Product Description

This arrangement of "Tritsch-Tratsch Polka"  opus 214 is written as performed by piano artist, Liberace.  The polka was written by Johann Strauss jr.

Learn to  play this fun polka in the same flayboyant style as Liberace.  This version was played by Liberace on his emmy award-winning t.v. show and in concerts around the world.  Liberace also had a 2nd t.v. show which ran in 1969 and was in color.  He also played this arrangement on that show.

Tritsch-Tratsch (chit-chat) refers to the Viennese passion for gossip. Strauss may also have been referencing the burlesque Der Tritschtratsch [de] by the famous Austrian dramatist and actor Johann Nestroy, which premiered in 1833 and was still in the stage repertoire when the polka was written.

The mood of the piece is jaunty and high-spirited, as were many of Strauss' polkas.
