This very familiar Irish tune has been arranged for intermediate level orchestra.
Washerwoman Greens is an arrangement of "The Irish Washerwoman". This arrangement was originally created for intermediate youth orchestra consisting of Strings, Flute, Oboe, and piano. The additional wind parts (Clarinet, Bassoon, Bass Clarinet, Alto Sax, Horn, Trumpet, and Trombone) have been added as an enhancement. The work can be effectively performed with just Strings, piano, flute and oboe.
NOTE: The parts for B-flat and E-flat instruments may prove challenging for intermediate players because of the key, which was chosen for the strings and the C-instruments in the winds, but they can be effectively performed. (For an alternative, the B-flat clarinets may play from the trumpet part).
