Burke was an 19th Century Irish choir master, teacher, evangelist, and hymnist. The hymn is based on Hebrews 13:8. Sections A and c are the verse.Sections B and D are the refrain. A modulation to a new key occurs at the end of section B with the help of a French augmented sixth chord. This piece should be performed "gioiosamente" or in a cheerful manner.
