This string quartet was originally written with inspiration from the TV show Reign based on Mary, Queen of Scotts. Originally this piece was given the name "Dance of the Scotts" as it's musical style suggests. When I presented this piece to my sister, she misheard what I said and thought I said "Dance of the Socks." She proceeded to tell me that she saw the socks dancing around in a dryer. From that point on I could no longer call this piece by its original name.
This piece is dedicated to Rebecca Connelly.
