George Bennard, a Methodist preacher, wrote this popular Country Gospel in 1912. On June 7, 1913 it was performed by a choir of five people with a guitar accompaniment. It was published in 1915 and has since been recorded by many artists.

This arrangement is for solo classical guitar and tries to nclude some of the creative licks you might hear in a church piano rendition. The original song was in 6/8 time. This arrangement is in 3/4 time and is written to specifically fit the solo guitar

This arrangement is in the key of A to make use of the open bass strings. It begins with the melody in the treble and then the melody moves to the bass. The TAB is important as much of the melody is in the higher positions on the bass strings

Definitely an advanced intermediate level but well worth the effort to learn.
