Towner was a 19th Century teacher and hymnist from Pennsylvania. This hyn was inspired by the work of Charles Wesley. Section A starts of the hymn. A modulation to a new key occurs at the end of section B with the help of an Italian augmented sixth chord. Section C then adds a descant by yours truly. A deceptive cadence occurs a few mearsures from the end, followed by a final resolution to the tonic.
