Today the tune is most often sung at Thankgiving to the text "We plow the fields and scatter the good seed on the land." The Plowman's Rag transmogrifies Schulz's tune into ragtime, a style the German composer surely never imagined. Appropriate for a prelude, postlude or recitalin an unbuttoned setting.
