Vivaldis relationship with Dresden is well known, beginning around 1717. That year Pisendel traveled to Italy and became a direct student of Vivaldis in Venice. Pisendel will take a large number of Vivaldian works with him to Dresden. In later years the large number of Vivaldis works in Dresden testify to a real furor for the Prete Rosso in Dresden.
