Continuing in practice of creating work based on objects/concepts/tools of meditation, I wrote "The Uncarved Block" after the Taoist concept of p'u: a thing in its purest state. After "Still Life" I became increasingly intrigued with the idea that music could function as objects. "The Uncarved Block" was written as a companion to "The Circles", which is based on the Tibetan Prayer Wheel.
