My arrangement for strings of a short, and as yet unpublished cantata by the composer, Joachim Einwag. I believe the composer was from somewhere in northern Germany, as the word Leipzig is written at the foot of the manuscripts first page. I came across an old photostat of the manuscript score for the Lamento amongst my musicologist friends collection. The original was (and probably still is) in the University Library in Upsala, Sweden. The original is scored for high voice, 2 violas damore, 2 violas da gamba and continuo.
