Product Description

The remarkably hardy Icelandic horse has a long history of faithful service to the early settlers, as well as to the farmers of more recent times, and the text of this song by Sigvaldi Kaldalóns, one of the country's most prolific composers of music for voice and piano, refers to the endurance of this much-admired animal. In the old days, crossing the Sprengisandi desert on horseback was sometimes necessary, and such endurance - as well as speed - was of the essence if the rider was to avoid all the dangers: Wild animals, outlaws, sudden storms and ghosts.

This product was created by a member of ArrangeMe, Hal Leonard's global self-publishing community of independent composers, arrangers, and songwriters.
