When Elizabeth Prentiss was going through a very difficult time in her life, she was inspired by the hymn "Nearer, My God, To Thee" to begin writing a poem prayer of her own. Encouraged by her husband George, she finished the poem "More Love to Thee" several years later. I've taken the tunes associated with both hymns and put them together into one arrangement. The setting is entirely in the key of Ab major.
