Random Access, for pre-recorded electronics was composed in memory of noted Avant-Garde composer Larry Austin, Professor Emeritus at
the University of North Texas. Mr. Austin was noted for his electronic and computer music works. Austin had important associations with John Cage, Karlheinz Stockhausen, Leonard Bernstein and others. Larry Austin died on December 30, 2018.
Random
Access may be combined with One for Larry, a work for flute and clarinet
with live digital processing, also dedicated to Larry Austin. If performed
together, the title is One for Larry + Random Access.
