Product Description

Most guitarists are aware that Wes Montgomery plucked the guitar with his thumb and not a guitar pick. What many are unaware of is that Wes played single note solos with only 3 fingers of his left hand. He did use his pinky for octaves and chords but only 3 fingers for single note solos like his model Charlie Christian. The tablature in this transcription favors that 3 fingered style. A guitarist could play this arrangement with 4 fingers and that would require less shifting, but the feel would be slightly different. Far Wes the album is a reissue of Montgomeryland, a 1958 album by the American jazz group the Montgomery Brothers, including guitarist Wes Montgomery. The album contains some of guitarist Wes Montgomery's first recordings; in fact, only three small-group songs pre-date these performances.

This product was created by a member of ArrangeMe, Hal Leonard's global self-publishing community of independent composers, arrangers, and songwriters.
