Product Description

Arrangement of Chopin's twentieth nocturne for unaccompanied viola.

Written in 1830, the original piano piece was dedicated to his sister Ludwika. The piece would not be published until 26 years after Chopin's death. Known for its somber and (arguably) haunting tone, the nocturne is most famously featured in Roman Polanski's 2002 film "The Pianist," which follows the Polish pianist Władysław Szpilman during the Second World War.

This arrangement is meant to capture the tone and emotion of the original piece, and utilize the darker and full tone of the viola. I hope you enjoy this piece as much as I did writing and playing it.

This product was created by a member of ArrangeMe, Hal Leonard's global self-publishing community of independent composers, arrangers, and songwriters. ArrangeMe allows for the publication of unique arrangements of both popular titles and original compositions from a wide variety of voices and backgrounds.
