An arrangement for solo piano of the complete Tron theme music by Wendy Carlos played during the final credits of the 1982 film. The original music from which this transcription has been made is in three parts: orchestra with synth accompaniment; choral section; and a final section played on the classical organ. This piano score follows the original music very closely, providing three contrasting sections but some adjustments are made for pianistic effect. Carlos' music is notable for its memorable theme and the striking key changes. Tron was a groundbreaking 1982 film with its pioneering use of computer generated imagery. The film anticipated many current concerns such as the theft of intellectual property and the power of artificial intelligence, especially in a corporate context. The film strikes an optimistic note at the end with the central character (played by Jeff Bridges) triumphing over these hostile forces and Carlos' music adds to the sense of resolution and celebration.
