These four short pieces are from various sources. The incomplete Exercise dharmonie is the only Conservatory exercise that Tailleferre kept and clearly shows the influence of Wagner at the time of her studies. The Marche funèbre (comique) was probably from a film score in the late 1930s, « Chats » was part of a documentary film score about animals vers 1950 and Course à léchalotte was also probably from a film score, evoking childrens games.
