Product Description

Sequoia for Trombone Octet and Percussion composed in 2009 by Jocelyn Morlock is inspired by the profound beauty and grandeur of these giant trees that tower in the forests of Western Canada. The outer sections of this tripartite work are fierce and majestic, while the middle section is marked by relative quietude and fragility. This work was commissioned by Redshift Music Society with generous support from the British Columbia Arts Council. Instrumentation is for 6 tenor trombones (4 of them B-flat/F), 2 bass trombones, percussion (timpani, glockenspiel and vibraphone performed by one musician). This 10-minute work is appropriate for advanced performers. This recording of Sequoia, with all trombone parts multi-tracked by Neal Bennett, and percussion played by Brian Nesselroad, is available on Bennetts 2013 recording, Ziggurat, on the Redshift Records label.

This product was created by a member of ArrangeMe, Hal Leonard's global self-publishing community of independent composers, arrangers, and songwriters.
