Product Description

Franz Lear's famous Gold and Silver Waltz is here arranged for string quartet by Joel Jacklich (A.S.C.A.P.) Care has been taken to arrange page turns at suitable places (with a note in the parts when a page turn occurs in another player's part). Lehár wrote his Gold and Silver Waltz at the request of the socialite, fashion trend-setter and arts patron (of Wagner and Smetana, among others) Princess Pauline von Metternich for the eponymous ball she gave at Viennas Sophiensäle on January 27, 1902. She asked for something especially fine and was rewarded with one of the masterworks of the twilight years of the Viennese waltz.
