Josef Strauss, second born od the three Strauss brothers wrote this quick polka in 1870 in Vienna to be first performed there in February 1870 at a ball in the Gartenbausäle, followed by a concert performance in the Vienna Musikverein in March.

This transcription was commissioned by Wind Philharmonic Mozarteum Salzburg and first performed conducted by Hansjoerg Angerer at their 2014 New Year's Concert on January 6th in Salzburg, Austria.
