Product Description
"Luna reluciente" (Shining moon) is quintessentially romantic. The colors are impressionistic, and there is a sense of suspension in the lack of resolution that creates a magical energy, appropriate to the text that expresses adoration at the beloved in the night of a shining moon. Very accessible for the novice singer, this song also has plenty of depth for the advanced artist. It would be great material for a student or faculty conservatory
recital or public art song concert, especially as part of a set (see
other Spanish compositions by William P. Gorton: Brezo,
Valentía, So el olivar). Intended to be sung in Castillian Spanish (i.e. "reluciente" would be pronounced reluthiente, with flipped "r" and theta-ized
"z" and "c" where appropriate). A wedding could be an appropriate occasion for this lovely piece, as well.
Duration: 1.35
"Luna reluciente" appears on Gorton's album of art songs, "Brimfull," available through his website (see below).
