This stark, simple work explores the use of flickering octaves and liberal use of the sustain pedal in order to depict shimmering light and movement. The work is inspired by the walk along the South West Coastal Path in England and attempts to plot the dramatic section 'from St. Ives to Zennor'. The piece is highly accessible and can be performed by students through to advanced players. The work can be programmed as a stand-alone piece, or as the third in a set of three by Robert A. Howard titled 'Mirror Image' (from SMP). The other two pieces, Recollections and Reflections are also available from Sheet Music Plus.
