PROGRAM NOTES: The composer writes about his work: "The Quartet for flute, clarinet bassoon and harp is influenced by impressionistic French music and Jazz, which was my main influence at the time. The first movement starts with a pastoral character, somewhat naive, but soon starts to raise some concerned thoughts, and so, ends dark. The second movement is a light flowing movement built on pentatonic scale theme. A Bassoon cadenza bridges between the second and the third movement, which is a long Passacaglia with lamento character. In the last movement, piccolo is used instead of flute. This movement opens with a fugue between the four instruments, which leads to a lyrical second theme followed by harp solo and ends with a "Grand Finale."
