Oh Mister Brown (paseo) is a two-step calypso dance recorded in 1914 by Lovey's Original Trinidad String Band. The huge success of their first recordings for Victor Talking Machine and Columbia Records in 1912 led to both companies sending recording crews to Trinidad - to capture the exciting new sounds at the source.
Originally performed on violins, cello, flute, clarinet, piano and a variety of strumming instruments (guitar, mandolin, cuatro and brags).
Arranged for violin and guitar (or other strumming instruments).
Part of Paseos and Waltzes of Trinidad Vol.1 which can be purchased complete for $29.99 and included 12 paseos and waltzes as recorded by Lovey's Band and Lionel Belasco's Orchestra from 1912-1918.
Arrangements for larger ensembles (strings and wind) are available on request.
