Product Description

Bodiam Castle is an original composition for trombone quartet. It is in a Turmmusik (tower music) style and is best performed when, at the start of the piece, the four players stand in the four corners of the room or a least four corners of the stage as directed in the parts. The "battle" between the first and second trombones (which can be played with or without mutes) gives the other two players time to move to the center of the room (or stage) for the second half of the piece, where they perform their own contrapuntal duet. They are later joined by the first and second players so that the final section of the piece is performed with all players standing in the center of the room (or stage). Playing separately in four corners will test your coordination skills!
The parts are written in alto, tenor, and bass clefs, but alternative bass clef parts for the tenor trombones plus alternative Bb treble clef parts for the three higher parts are included.
