Product Description
THE KING SHALL COME WHEN MORNING DAWNS
Playing time: Appx. 1:40
Services: Advent, Christmas, Epiphany, Christ The King
Based on the old carol, this short Advent work for pipe organ (manuals only) begins with a plaintive opening and leads to a triumphal close. The opening theme, which becomes the ostinato, is introduced on soft reeds in order to give a feel of caravans across the desert...an image not only indicative of the journey into Bethlehem, but also foreshadowing the Epiphany journey of another famous group of travelers. With its large triumphal finish, the music could be ideal for a short processional, prelude, or postlude.
Although the work is for manuals only, it has a surprisingly full organ sound as it builds to the thrilling conclusion; it is a large-sounding work in spite of the brevity of its performance time. Thank you for choosing to add this piece to your service music, and may God bless.
