From the composer: March for Peace is dedicated to over 125000 Canadians who have
served in UN Peacekeeping missions since 1948. Peacekeepers work to
maintain peace and security, protect human rights, and help restore the
rule of law in conflict zones around the world. Many Canadians consider
peacekeeping to be an important part of our countrys identity and history.
After a rousing introduction, this piece is driven by a lightly syncopated
bass line underneath a stately, noble melody. The low brass interjects
with a tempestuous interlude, before the initial theme returns and peace
is restored!
Perfect repertoire for Remembrance Day or any other event honouring military or humanitarian service.
