McCartney was initially concerned that he had subconsciously borrowed the tune, but beyond superficial similarities between the lyric and rhyming schemes, he became convinced that he hadn't. "Yesterday" is one of the most recorded songs in the history of popular music and was inducted into the Grammy Hall of Fame in 1997.

About the arranger: Brenda Dillon is best known for her contributions to the Recreational Music Making movement.
