A 21st Century wind quintet movement (Allegro) based on an early 18th century flute trio composed by an unknown obscure composer. The original manuscript, from which this is based, has memorable melodies that are worth preserving. This piece is a happy sounding Allegro of medium difficulty, but requires close ensemble attentiveness to melodies that are shared by all instruments of the ensemble. Composed for flute, oboe, clarinet in Bb, Horn in F, bassoon. It is a delightful, light-sounding piece with 14 episodic variations on several themes.
