Apocalypso in G is a calypso-style piece for a early intermediate string orchestra. The piece features syncopated rhythms, some tricky bowing, and pizzicato cello and basses. Not only will your students be humming the melody all day, but they'll be dancing to it as well.

This piece was written during the pandemic (hence the title), and shouldn't be taken as anything other than light-hearted and optimistic. The germination of this piece came during some downtime in between teaching remote classes. I had come across this YouTube channel called Music Matters (https://www.youtube.com/c/MusicMattersGB), where there was a video tutorial on writing a calypso for the piano. The video was short and since I had time, I decided to try it out. Two hours later, we have Apocalypso in G. Thank you Gareth Green for your channel. It's excellent!
