I am a lineman for the county And I drive the main road Searchin' in the sun for another overload I hear you singing in the wire I can hear you through the whine And the Wichita lineman Is still on the line Later Jimmy said, This song is not just about a lineman. It is about anyone who can think about other things while they worka truck driver, for example, or a farmworker. It is a song about an ordinary person who has extraordinary thoughts. This is an arrangement for the Brass Band. There are parts for both Horns in Eb and F, Trombones 1-2 in BC and TC, Euphonium TC and BC, Tubas in Bb, Eb, and C with an optional Bass Guitar part.
