Product Description
In this Level 4.0 (Advanced) String Orchestra arrangement, Martin Lass has arranged the first movement of Mozart's Symphony No. 25 for professional or advanced student string orchestra.
In this orchestral reduction for string orchestra, key wind and brass parts have been transferred to the strings or otherwise omitted if they are merely doubling what the strings are already doing. In particular, the all-important oboe solos are taken up by the 2nd violins. Interpretation markings such as dynamics and articulations such as might have been done in the mid- to late-18th century (Mannheim school) have been added at the arranger's discretion. In addition, some inner parts and the contrabass part have been minimally simplified. Other than these changes and additions, the music is as Mozart wrote it.
Players should attend well to the articulations, dynamics, and other markings in order to give this piece the drama that it is meant to convey, remembering that contrasts are everything.
