This composition for SATB choir and piano is an effort to cover a vacuum: The well-known musical form of a MAGNIFICAT, in the original Greek Language. It is provided with Greek sounding transcription in Latin letters as well as English translation. The text comes from the Gospel according to Luke (Luc. 1:46-55) and describes the visitation of the pregnant Theotokos to her cousin Elisabeth and her joy and gratitude as "the baby leaped in her womb".
This work is a effort to combine the Byzantine musical tradition with western music choral polyphony and has been performed to inspiring response.
First prize in the International DONNE IN MUSICA International Composition Competition, Serbia, in 2023.
