Product Description
A happy, upbeat tune from South African jazz pianist Abdullah Ibrahim, arranged for four trumpets in Bb of an intermediate (grades 4-6) standard.
Ranges (written pitch):
C4 = middle C
1st: E4 to A5 (one optional C6)
2nd: G3 to G5
3rd: G3 to E5
4th: F#3 to E5
All parts take part in the melody, with the largest share going to the 1st and 2nd parts. The 3rd part contains more accompanimental material and the 4th is somewhat simpler and often supplies a bass line. All parts contain quite a bit of syncopation, so this arrangement is a great way to get your students to develop their sense of pulse in a fun way. The music is mostly diatonic but with occasional hints of chromaticism and jazz harmony to add some flavour.
The arrangement last approximately 3 minutes, but can be shortened to about 2m30s by taking the optional cut to letter G as marked.
This arrangement is also available in other formats including 4 trombones and brass quintet. For details of these and other arrangements by James Brady go to:
