This piece for recorder ensemble is an arrangement of the aria (Chanson Bohème) sung by the characters Carmen, Frasquita and Mercédès in act two of the opera 'Carmen' composed by Georges Bizet and first performed in 1875. The composition was included in the Carmen Suite No. 2 for orchestra as 'Danse Bohème'.
