Product Description
This song extolling the joy and privilege of worship was inspired by the grace-filled ministry of Dr. Jesse Middendorf, pastor of Kansas City First Church of the Nazarene 1990-2001 before becoming a General Superintendent in the denomination. I wrote it in a slow jazz style with rhythm section and string orchestra accompaniment, somewhat reminiscent of Linda Ronstadt's epic collaboration with Nelson Riddle and his orchestra.
The song can be done with rhythm section alone, or even piano alone, but the use of a string section really makes it special. And in the absence of a string section, a good keyboardist could approximate a string ensemble by reading from the full score.
The vocal stylings are not for the faint of heart; they require a strong upper range and good breath support.
Duration: ca. 4:10
The mp3 demo is computer-generated and thus has its limitations. In live performance, the vocalist would want to take more liberties with the tempo, really milking it for all the expression possible. By way of reminder, if you are able to produce a good live mp3 or video that I could use as a demo, please send it, and I will be sure to give credit where credit is due!
Note: the purchase price allows you to make all the copies you need for your vocalist and instrumentalists.
