It is part of a larger anthology of music by Dorothy van Joolen Barth entitled Songs from Euterpe: Solos for Meditation, Ritual, or Sacred Dance. The six pieces included are one page each and of intermediate difficulty. Included are: (1) Morning; (2) Akaka Falls; (3) Blue Temple; (4) Labyrinth; (5) Crater Credo; and (6) Rain Tree. Island Gaia was inspired by a trip to the Big Island of Hawaii. While intended for flute or recorder, this music can also be played on violin. The audio sample of Morning was recorded on alto recorder. About the Composer: Dorothy van Joolen Barth is a classical violinist and recorder player. Born in Amsterdam, she now resides and performs in California. She has arranged six volumes of Celtic traditional music for two instruments and has composed three volumes of original music.
