Sometimes this tune is called "Twinkle Twinkle Little Star", sometimes it's called "Baa Baa Black Sheep", and sometimes it's called "The Alphabet Song". But back in Mozart's day, it was known as the French folk tune "Ah, vous dirai-je maman". Mozart composed a lovely theme and variations on this melody for piano in 1781 (K. 265/300e).

This is an exhilarating arrangement for violin and cello. Although the violin gets more melody, the cello part is every bit as interesting. Some of the variations are quite challenging, allowing each musician to show off their musical skills.
