This arrangement is formatted for a SA or 2-part choir with piano accompaniment. The beautiful lyrics about the rainbow by Flora Kirkland are set to the traditional American melody PLEADING SAVIOR. The gently flowing melody is sung by the sopranos throughout with the altos and piano accompaniment adding peaceful harmonies. For variety during the second verse, have the sopranos sing the melody alone for the first 4 measures followed by the altos alone on the next 4 measures then returning to 2-part harmony for the rest of the song.

This is a fairly easy and straight-forward arrangement for both vocals and accompanist. The lyrics express how the rainbow is a promise of God's love even though our lives experience clouds and storms at times: "Life is not a cloudless journey, storms and darkness oft oppress...But across the thickest darkness, Shines the rainbow of His love..."

Set in the key of F major, the soprano range is from D above middle C to the second D above (D4-D5) and the alto range is from A below middle C to the A above (A3-A4). Duration 4:30.
