Commissioned by Shoestring Opera Melbourne for the 2016 Melbourne International Comedy Festival, this chamber arrangement & new english libretto of Jacques OFFENBACH's one act (comic) operette from 1856 retains the original sound and intention of the full orchestra but can be achieved by an ensemble of minimum 10 players. (5 Wind / 5 String).
String parts are as close as possible to the original, and can be expanded without modification to string sections of more players. Instrumentation: 1 Flute, 1 Oboe, 1 Clarinets in Bb & A, 1 Bassoon, 1 Horns in F, Strings (V1, V2, Vla, Vc, DB).
