Product Description

Where the Prelude in C major is gentle and serene, the Prelude in C minor is the polar opposite. It begins with a growl in the left hand leading to a thundering low C octave, while the right hand descends in simple octaves. In terms of style, the piece has far more of Brahms or Rachmaninoff to it than it does of Bach. It has the feeling of a raging storm, with the crash of thunder and lightning filling the sky, all the while the wind is swirling about, driving the rain into your face making it difficult to get your bearings. The music has the impression of the storm subsiding as the piece comes to a close, but there is a final question: Is it truly over?
