Product Description

There are several ways in which this exercise in a progression of 3rds can be employed. Every instrumental part has A, B, C, and D lines printed. Thus, each section or combination of instruments may play each or all the four parts.
The entire ensemble or just selected instruments may play in unison, duet or trio format such as
A-B, A-C, A-D, A-B-C, B-C-D, C-D-A etc.
Also combining different lines produces various intervals.
A & B or A & C alternates between 3rds & 4ths or their inversions.
B & D produces repeating unisons, 3rds & 5ths for 8 bars, then reverses for the last 8 bars 5ths, 3rds and unisons.
There is a I-VI chord progression in bars 1, 3, 6, 8, 10 and 12.
You will note that only 1 part changes note on each bar. This means that the individual player must
maintain their pitch for several succeeding bars.
The progression is not meant to be familiar to most groups.
Have fun and we hope this exercise proves useful in developing the listening and ensemble tuning skills of your players.
