Die Fledermaus (The Bat) is an operetta by Johann Strauss II that tells the story of a series of misunderstandings and revenge that culminate in a night in jail. The story takes place in Vienna on New Year's Eve, 1899. The piece premiered in 1874 and has been popular with audiences ever since. The overture is colelction of tunes from the operetta that can add excitiment and drama to any concert performance. This arrangement for Wind Quintet includes parts for both Clarinet in A and Clarinet B flat.
