This original musical setting of Longfellow's famous text is written for soprano and keyboard (with a bell-like setting) as well as acoustic piano. It is the composer's wish that the accompaniment sound bell-like until a certain part of the text where the the tone color changes to something darker.
The harmonies aim to imitate bell (pentatonic) tones and center around F Lydian as well as F major.
If desired, bell parts could be pulled (and doubled) from the accompaniment for the beginning or ending section for a brighter effect.
