Product Description

My Patie is a Lover Gay was written by the Scottish poet Allan Ramsay as the Finale for his ballad opera The Gentle Shepherd (1725).  As was the custom of ballad opera at that time, he suggested his lyrics were to be sung to the well-known Scottish-English tune Corn Riggs are Happy (aka Corn Riggs are Bonny).  In the spirit of PRIDE month, and updating the setting to the context of now, this is a love song about a shepherd and his lover.  It is arranged for 4-part (gay or inclusive) mens chorus to be performed a cappella.  Performance time: 2:55+-
