About the work:
Released in 1983 by the German band Nena, 99 Luftballons is a dramatic, funky, and ultimately touching song about the dangers of war. Following its widespread success in Europe and Japan, an English version (99 Red Balloons) was released a year later.
As the original is by far the most popular version at Oktoberfest celebrations across the world, it is the German lyrics that you will find in this vocal part (though the arrangement will also work with the English lyrics, if preferred).
