Product Description

The one-act ballet La Péri (1912) was Dukas final large-scale work dedicated to the French dancer Natalia Touhanova. Based on a Persian folk story it follows a princes search for the flower of immortality, and his falling in love with a sleeping fairy.

As a last-minute addition before the premiere performance, Dukas added this fanfare as an introduction to the whole ballet. It is written in three parts with a grandiose opening, a gentler, more introspective middle, and a final return to the initial fanfare.

Originally written for brass choir, this arrangement is for a full-size British Style Brass Band.
