An improvised music composition for small jazz combo. This is actually a concept piece for a band used to playing free style improvisations. Listening to the mp3 or disc might help. The open bass/drums duet sets the stage for barlines and note values not to be taken literally. Horn and keyboard should be able to construct a rapid fire phrasing of the melody over the bass/drums. The improv idea is a collective, "everyone solos but no one solos" concept. Hint: Bass melody is a 12-tone serial idea, meant as a motif. Have fun!
