Based on a Christmas carol composed/arranged by various composers including King John IV of Portugal (16041656) and John Francis Wade (17111786) but probably going back to much earlier times. My variations are as follows:
Verse 1: 4 time, major mode, tune on flute 1 (Wade's harmonisation)
Verse 2: 4 time, minor mode, decorated tune on flute 1
Verse 3: 3 time, major mode, tune on alto flute
Verse 4: 3 time, minor mode, tune on bass flute
Verse 5: 4 time, major mode, tune on flute 2
O come, all ye faithful, joyful and triumphant!
O come ye, O come ye to Bethlehem;
Come and behold him
Born the King of Angels:
O come, let us adore Him, (3×)
Christ the Lord.
God of God, light of light,
Lo, he abhors not the Virgin's womb;
Very God, begotten, not created:
O come, let us adore Him, (3×)
Christ the Lord.
Sing, choirs of angels, sing in exultation,
Sing, all ye citizens of Heaven above!
Glory to God, glory in the highest:
