Vln 1 does go to an open E while the bass NEVER needs to play above A. Written for 3 part string orchestra and piano, it introduces DC al Fine, uses pizz and arco in the violin and viola section, forte and mezzo forte dynamics, simple 2 part harmony and uses only half-notes, quarter-notes and quarter-rests. It is a great piece for that end of the year concert. Key of D, Grade .5-1 4/4 time Everyone needs to know the D scale.
